Quality materials and construction make the Portland safe. This 6-inch lace-up brown leather work boot meets ASTM standards impact and compression with a strong, low-profile carbon-fiber toe. Carbon fiber provides strength without the bulk and weight of a traditional composite material. Signature left and right asymmetrical toe boxes provide a little extra wiggle room up front. These toe boxes have an applied external toe bumper that mitigates scuffs. An applied heel guard provides additional resistance to abrasion, while the contoured construction locks the heel into place. A non-marking rubber outsole is oil-, slip-, chemical- and abrasion-resisting. The outsole also resists heat; it's rated to 572-degrees F. And the Philadelphia meets ASTM standards for electrical hazard resistance, providing a level of protection from live wires underfoot.
